Funeral Directors Throughout the Highlands

Who we are

Alasdair Rhind Funeral Directors head office is situated in Tain, this is a prime location for us to be able to serve Dornoch, Invergordon, Alness and surrounding areas. Due to our expanding business in 2012 we were proud to announce the opening of our second branch in Dingwall, we are now able to serve families on a much wider scale including Easter Ross, Sutherland, Inverness and the surrounding areas.

We took the decision to open our office in Dingwall rather than in Inverness itself due to the ever increasing costs of running a business in a city, in doing so we are able to not only offer the best funeral service with care and distinction but also at a more competitive price.

Over the years Alasdair Rhind Funeral Directors have built a reputation throughout the highlands for a quality and dignified service. The company prides itself on the personal and meticulous attention given to every detail, from the moment you first get in touch with Alasdair. One of the biggest factors in achieving this level of service is due to Alasdair's eldest son Jack who is responsible for running the everyday duties supported by our team of funeral assistants and drivers this allows Alasdair to take care of all the planning but more importantly being there to support and encourage the deceased's loved ones.

What to expect from us

When a death occurs it is always a difficult time to know what to do first. We can help you by being available 24 hours a day 365 days of the year. Some people do not like to call a funeral director during the night, however this is the time when you need the most support from someone who knows what steps need to be taken.

Initially Alasdair himself will arrange to call at your home or meet with you at the office whichever is most convenient to you. He will first talk you through what to expect in the difficult days to come and what options are available to you. He will then gather all the required information to allow him to undertake the necessary arrangements for you. We can arrange the funeral service in your own Church, or Parish Church, Crematorium, at the deceased's own home or even a simple but very personal service at the graveside, all with the precise attention to detail and utmost dignity that you require at this sad time.

A funeral is the last chance to say goodbye to a loved one and it will be a very emotional time. It is of paramount importance that the arrangements are carefully considered. We are professionals in the funeral service industry employing dedicated nurses to care for the deceased and we pride ourselves in offering a fully comprehensive range of services with unparalleled levels of personal service.

We can advise on a gathering after the service including suitable venues and catering arrangements and also on floral tributes or charitable donations.

We pride ourselves in providing a bespoke funeral service, if you can't find what you are looking for within our web site pages please do not hesitate to contact either of our Funeral Homes for assistance.

Alasdair Rhind Funeral Directors have a genuine wish to offer a helping hand, so often lacking on these sad occasions. It is not our policy to impose a sense of urgency or apply undue pressure on you or your family at this sad time. We realise it is important for many people to reflect the personality and character of the deceased within the arrangements and this often requires time and thought to do so.

Thank you for all that you did for us during our enforced stay in Tain. We greatly appreciated your kindness and dignity over the loss of our beloved son at Lochinver. It is so unfortunate to have met such as gentleman as yourself under these tragic circumstances.
I want to express thanks for the excellent service you provided. Our family were very pleased with how it was all conducted. Again with thanks and our good wishes.
We appreciate all your kindness in dealing with both our parents funerals, making it a happy closure for us both to remember. We both wish you our best wishes for the future.
Thank you very much for your efficiency and sensitivity in all matters relating to the funeral. We appreciated your visits and, in particular, the fact that you prayed the night before the funeral.
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking you and your colleagues for the kindness and consideration shown to me and my family at a difficult time for us. Your attention to detail was much appreciated.
Here I am 5 weeks later on and it is you that I give all the thanks that I have come to this point. My family and I will always hold you in our hearts as a significant person raised up for us at this time. Your calm and gentle management of the cremation and thanksgiving service carried a huge burden for us and allowed us to participate, knowing all was in your effiicient hands. On reflection it was all very honouring to God and to our beloved and though we still find ourselves engulfed in sadness over our loss, we have a real sense of peace about how it was all conducted. I can't thank you enough for making this possible.
Dear Mr. Rhind We were very touched by the respectful and dignified way you managed the funeral and we were very grateful to have your support at a very stressful time for us.
I write on behalf of all the family to thank you and the members of your staff for all the support and help given to us at a very sad time, - and for the dignified manner in which dad was laid to rest.
Thank you to you and your staff in organising Both my Auntie and Uncle's funerals in the last 15 months.
